Tear Tape

A tear strip turns a sealed carton, envelope or mailer into easy-open packaging. Fortis Industrial supplies tesa®’s tear tape range to Malaysian corrugated plants, folding-carton printers and e-commerce packaging lines. tesa® 51210 is the basic tensilised polypropylene tear tape with synthetic rubber adhesive, offering excellent tack, adhesion and shear resistance on corrugated and solid board. tesa® 51230 PV1 is the sturdier strip recommended for high unwinding speeds on automatic applicators.

When the packaging is heavier or must survive rough handling, tesa® 53494 combines a very strong tensilised PP backing with synthetic rubber adhesive, and tesa® 53499 uses tesa’s strongest backing for premium-strength tear applications. For paper-based packaging that must stay recyclable, tesa® 51334 is a white paper tear tape for lightweight boxes and envelopes. tesa® 50060 Flexible rounds off the group as a bidirectional polyester filament tape for reinforcing cardboard boxes against tearing or bursting from inside or outside.
