Repulpable Tape
Repulpable tapes are made to disappear. Their paper or tissue carriers and modified water-soluble acrylic adhesives break down in the pulper, so a splice, a core start or a tail tie-down can go straight back into the recycling loop with the broke. Fortis Industrial supplies tesa®’s repulpable range to Malaysian paper mills, tissue converters and paperboard plants. tesa® 4446 is the single-sided flat-back paper tape for tail sealing and general repulpable applications without a liner.
For double-sided work, tesa® 51915 and 51916 are very thin transfer tapes — adhesive only, no carrier — for splices where minimum build-up matters; 51917 adds a tissue backing for easier handling; and 51193, with its blue splittable paper backing and repulpable paper liner, is the standard tape for starting a new core on a winder. Together with tesa® CaRes 51912 and 51913 in the splicing category and the 4441, 4445 and 51446 single-sided tapes under Process Tape for Paper Production, the range covers every repulpable job on the machine.
