Core Starting
Core starting tape fixes the leading edge of the web to a fresh core on winders, slitter-rewinders and coating lines so the new roll starts tight and straight. Fortis Industrial stocks the tesa® tapes Malaysian paper, film and label converters rely on. tesa® 51193 is the classic choice: a repulpable double-sided tape with a blue splittable paper backing, water-soluble acrylic adhesive and a paper liner, so the core can be recycled with the tape on it. tesa® 51194 uses the same splittable paper construction with a synthetic rubber adhesive and a PET liner for film and non-repulpable webs.
tesa® 51904 is a hand-tearable double-sided tape for quick processing without tools. tesa® CaRes 51912 and 51913 are repulpable tissue tapes in two thicknesses that double as splicing tapes. Where a thicker, higher-strength bond is needed, tesa® Professional 64620 Universal — a white PP carrier with hot-melt synthetic rubber — gives outstanding adhesive strength and easy handling.
